Meme is a way to blog, update on my life, and share with others.  Thank you Rachel Dixon from Dixon Family Ministries for sharing this blogging idea with me!

For My Week: I am praying for the shalom of YHWH!  I need His peace in my life as I continue to balance being a wife, a mother, a nurse, and a family nurse practitioner student.  I am so thankful for His perfect will in my life!

A Photo:

We were invited to a masquerade ball in June 2011 to celebrate our friend, Esther’s sweet 16.  It was a beautiful ball complete with a caller leading the dances.  My oldest son, Cory, takes ballroom dance classes through our homeschool coop.  He has learned many waltzes, the cha cha, salsa, tango, swing, foxtrot, and even how to dip.  It was so wonderful to see the beautiful costumes and dances at the ball.

The favorite thing I did: I snuggled with my children.  I had a cold earlier this week so snuggling was out because I did not want to spread the virus.  Now, I am feeling better, and my kiddos are happy to snuggle Mommy again.  I LOVE snuggling my precious gifts!

The weather outside is: Typical Southern Arizona weather in October.  It is sunny, clear skies, with just a slight nip in the air and a bit of wind. We are in the 70′s- 80′s around here.

I am reading: my school books as always.  I am also reading books to help prepare for my oldest son’s Bar Mitzvah on Nov 19th.  He has been working hard to learn his Torah portion in Hebrew and prepare for his big day.  I am also reading Garden of Emunah: A Practical Guide to Life by Rabbi Shalom Arush

My projects around the house: Still need to organize my desk and my dresser.  I tend to let stuff pile up on them. (bad habit!)

I learned about: I always learn so much in my Family Nurse Practitioner classes and my clinicals. My current clinical is every other Friday with a Family Nurse Practitioner in a rural Family Practice clinic.  I love working with all ages to help with their health needs.  I also continue to learn so much about YHWH’s ways from my sisters and brothers in YHWH and from His word!  Praise Yeshua for the gift of good friends willing to share and teach the ways of Abba’s word!

I made: I made delicious homemade chicken noodle soup last week for my husband when he had a cold.  I am the one with a cold this past week, so not much cooking.  However, enjoying coffee this morning while sitting with my children.

I am working On: Following wherever Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) leads me.  I pray whatever I do shows my thankfulness for my salvation in Yeshua HaMashiach and my desire to follow the Father’s ways always!

I am looking forward to: My oldest sons birthday coming soon.  My twins, Megan and Jacob, celebrated their 13th birthday recently.  My oldest’s 16th birthday is November 13th.  I am so proud of my children!

My Scripture verse for the week: “All Scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living; 17 thus anyone who belongs to God may be fully equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (CJB)

On my prayer list: My family and friends are always on my prayer list!  I also pray for my friend Julie’s mom and my friend Avi’s dad.  Julie and Avi belong to our Shul, Beit Hallel, and both Julie’s mom and Avi’s dad are having health problems in the hospital right now. I pray that in all I do, I bring Yeshua’s love to others, and bring glory to YHWH!

I am thankful for: my husband and children, the most precious gifts the Father has bestowed in my life!

Blessings in Yeshua HaMashiach,

I haven’t written in a while.  Life has been extremely busy.  YHWH has shown me how much I need time with Him no matter how busy my life may get. He must remain my focus!

This song is a great reminder of the light He has placed in my heart!

Lift Me Up” Lyrics [edit]
by The Afters | from the album Light Up The Sky

You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up

Waiting for the sunrise
Waiting for the day
Waiting for a sign
That I’m where you want me to be

You know my heart is heavy
And the hurt is deep
But when I feel like giving up
You’re reminding me
That we all fall down sometimes
But when I hit the ground

You lift me up when I am weak
Your arms wrap around me
Your love catches me so I’m letting go
You lift me up when I can’t see
Your heart is all that I need
Your love carries me so I’m letting go

You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up

I know I’m not perfect
I know I make mistakes
I know that I have let you down
But you love me the same

And when I’m surrounded
When I lose my way
When I’m crying out and falling down
You are here to

Lift me up when I am weak
Your arms wrap around me
Your love catches me so I’m letting go
You lift me up when I can’t see
Your heart is all that I need
Your love carries me so I’m letting go

I can see the dawn is breaking
I am feeling overtaken with your love
With your love
I don’t know what I can offer
In this moment I surrender to your love
To your love

You lift me up when I am weak
Your arms wrap around me
Your love catches me so I’m letting go

You lift me up when I am weak
Your arms wrap around me
Your love catches me so I’m letting go
You lift me up when I can’t see
Your heart is all that I need
Your love carries me so I’m letting go

I can see the dawn is breaking
I am feeling overtaken with your love

You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up with your love
You lift me up

Perfect Love: Demonstrated by Yeshua

” Moreover, we have seen and we testify that the Father has sent his Son as Deliverer of the world. If someone acknowledges that Yeshua is the Son of G_d, G_d remains united with him, and he with G_d. Also we have come to know and trust the love that G_d has for us. G_d is love; and those who remain in this love remain united with G_d, and G_d remains united with them.

Here is how love has been brought to maturity with us: as the Messiah is, so are we in the world. This gives us confidence for the Day of Judgment. There is no fear in love. On the contrary, love that has achieved its goal gets rid of fear, because fear has to do with punishment; the person who keeps fearing has not been brought to maturity in regard to love. We ourselves love now because he loved us first. If anyone says, “I love G_d,” and hates his brother, he is a liar. For if a person does not love his brother, whom he has seen, then he cannot love G_d, whom he has not seen. Yes, this is the command we have from him: whoever loves G_d must love his brother too.” 1 John 4: 14-21

6-19-11 Meme – Idea courtesy of Rachel Dixon at A City on A Hill (http://dixonhomestead.com/rachel/)

For My Week: I have been very busy studying for my skills lab final.  I am studying to be a Family Nurse Practitioner.  I studied and practiced each day in addition to tending to my family and home, and working as a hospice nurse.  It all paid off.  With the blessings of knowledge from YHWH, I made a 100% on the final.  I am so grateful to Adonai!

A Photo: My oldest son, Cory, learning how to drive.

The favorite thing I did: Pray with my friends (classmates) one day before our test.  It was so nice to pray together with other believers all realizing any success we have all belongs to YHWH!

The weather outside was: Hot!!!  Southern Arizona this time of year is always above 100 degrees.

I am reading: Daylight Diet  -by: Paul Nison and Women’s Wisdom  -by Rabbi Shalom Arush

My projects around the house:  Caring for my kids each taking their turns attending church camps related to their grade levels (middle and high school levels) and help at church camps for children younger than they are (elementary and preschool children).  Also working on trying to organize homeschool books no longer being used so we can sell them.

I learned about: I am always learning something new.  My Family Nurse Pracitioner classes are now going to be focused on wound care, clinical procedures, and EKG interpretation.

I made: Delicious Raw Spaghetti with raw zucchini and yellow squash noodles and raw sauce- recipe courtesy of my friend Christina HsKubes (http://hskubes.blogspot.com/)

I am working on: Reading scripture more regularly and diligently.  Reading more and watching tv less.  Trying to eat more Raw food in my diet- goal of 75-80% raw.

I am looking forward to: Beginning my next class and enjoying time with my twin 12 year olds this week while my oldest is at camp.

My Scripture verse for the week: “Why, every hair on your head has been counted! Don’t be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows.” (Luke 12:7)

On my prayer list: So very many people.  My dear friends at O’haveem et Torah and B’Nai Ysrael, Vail Christian Church, and on Facebook.  I also have my wonderful family to always pray for, and the amazing teens all at Christ In Youth camp (CIY) through Vail Christian Church.  I also pray for the hospice patients and their families.

I am thankful for:  for YHWH sending his son Yeshua to save me!  I am also thankful for the laws of the Father that He gave to ensure I am cared for the way I am meant to be cared for, after all, He created us all!

*smile*: My little niece, Lexi, just turned 5.  Her sweet smile and precious little voice always makes me smile!

Book Review: 12 Steps to Raw Foods: How to End Your Dependency on Cooked Food by: Victoria Boutenko

Book Review: 12 Steps to Raw Foods: How to End Your Dependency on Cooked Food by: Victoria Boutenko

I am growing increasingly interested in developing more of a Raw food lifestyle.  Admittedly, this has was spawned from reading Paul Nisan’s Health according to scriptures (http://www.amazon.com/Health-According-Scriptures-Paul-Nison/dp/096752864X/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1306637215&sr=1-4).  I realize after much reading and researching, raw food is certainly healthier for the body.  However, I also realize after eating cooked food all my life, the idea of 100% raw is a bit overwhelming.

I purchased the book by Victoria Boutenko for ideas how to go from cooked to raw, thus 12 steps.  The book available on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/12-Steps-Raw-Foods-Dependency/dp/1556436513/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1306637258&sr=1-3) has many wonderful suggestions in taking a raw lifestyle step by step.  I also absolutely loved the recipes offered in the book.  The only down side I found to the book was noticing the spiritual type beliefs Ms Boutenko espoused.  She makes many of her beliefs clear in stating certain mystical, humanistic, and new age philosophies throughout her book.  Fortunately, the spiritual beliefs spoken about are limited in comparison to the raw lifestyle education provided in the book.

We Can’t Fix Ourselves

I love this song by FM Static.  It reminds me no one can fix themselves or each other.  Our lives are in the hands of our creator, who lovingly waits guides us and cares for us, if we will just seek him first above all things!

“For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”  Matthew 6:32-34

Friends Are Such Special Blessings

True friends are such a special blessing!  They remind us of the Father’s love in the daily ups and downs of life.  True friends stick by you, encourage you, challenge you, and help you grow.  They may not always agree, but they always care.  True friends give of themselves for others.  True friends pray for you, and remind you how much you are loved!

I am very blessed with friend graciously provided by the Father!  I have friends who encourage me in my Torah Observant walk, friends who encourage me in school, friends who encourage me in my marriage, friends who encourage me in my parenting. My friends listen when I need to vent, seek to see how I am doing, offer hugs and love when I need it most.

A special friend of mine even re-designed my blog site.  She did not charge me anything, but freely gave of her time and talents to make my blog especially beautiful and inviting.  Sonja from Girlish Musings is the incredible talent and creativity behind my new blog design.  Thank you Sonja, you are an amazing blessing and friend!  Sonja’s site is:

Sometimes We Just Need a Hug

2011 April 26
Posted by Joycelyn

I absolutely adore my children.  Every night before bed I snuggle them.  I tell them “You are loved, you are beautiful, you are a child of G_d!”  I also tell them “Goodnight and G_d bless you!”  I always hug and kiss them.  I am a snuggler and love to snuggle my kiddos every chance I get.  I know as they grow, those opportunities will grow fewer so I take advantage of the opportunities I have while they still exist.

My children are not perfect.  They argue, fight, get into mischief, and test boundaries.  Lately it seems, my daughter specifically has been testing every possible boundary in her home education;  in her attitude towards her siblings, my husband, and I; and in her general behavior.  I feel like we are on her so often to behave, follow the rules, show respect.  Yesterday, I had had it.  I sent her to bed so frustrated, not knowing what to do.  I waited about an hour after she finally went to bed, 1/2 hour after I initially sent her there.  I decided I wanted her to know she was loved, no matter how crazy she drives us.  I went in, laid on her bed next to her, wrapped her in my arms, and hugged her.  She looked at me and asked, “What do you want”?  I told her I just wanted to hold her.  She smiled and cuddled into my arms.  I just kept holding her, stroking her hair, and told her how much I loved her and how truly special she is.  She assured her, even when she is in trouble, she is still loved.  I also reminded her only one person loved her more than her Daddy and me, G_d.

I think we all need to be reminded how much we are loved, even when we mess up.  The Father loved us so much, He sent his only son to redeem us from our sins and death.  He paid the ultimate price because even while we were sinners, He loved us!

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in that the Messiah died on our behalf while we were still sinners!” Romans 5:8 (CJB)

Children are truly gifts from YHWH!

The Truth about Easter

My dear friend Jacque Dixon posted an excellent explanation about the truth behind Easter.  It is not what we have been brought up to believe.  It is a pagan holiday disguised into a Christian holiday.  Yeshua and His disciples followed the holy days as set forth in the Bible by YHWH.  They never added or subtracted from His word.  If we are true followers of Yeshua, we should indeed follow His example!  The link to my friend’s blog is here:

I encourage you to read the truth and pray the Father reveals His word and His desires to you!
